Wide Brims

FUN FACT- The first hat I ever bought was a brown beret!! Yes…a beret. I was thirteen and a freshman in High School. Not the best hat to buy when you are trying to fit in, but then again why fit in when you were born to stand out? Since then I have been obsessed with hats & who wouldn’t be!
 1. They are greattttt for bad hair days-no brainer.

2. They can class or sass up your look.

If you think you are one of those people who thinks, “Nope, I can’t pull off hats.” Well you are wrong. Wide brims are everything right now. They look fab on everyone one and bonus, hats are a great conversation starter.

Meowy Worthy Staple

Leopard is here to stay. If you know me, I have always been a fan of leopard. It’s an on trend print that can be worn every season. When you style your look with leopard you obvi don’t want to be covered head to toe in the print.

Leopard looks great with any pop of color. One of my all time favorite ways to wear leopard is in a faux fur coat. There’s just something sassy about it. If you aren’t a big risk taker with leopard, try adding a leopard scarf to a solid top and coat.

Whether you style your leopard tunic with skinnie jeans, black wedges and a pop of turquoise or leopard slip dress with an over sized denim jacket and white sneaks your look will always go from drab to fab when you add a leopard piece.

Dressing for success doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. Do you have a black blazer? You could easily style it with a simple dress and add a statement necklace and heels to complete your effortless yet business appropriate look.

I work in an office where business casual is required, but I just hate wearing slacks. They are boring, uncomfortable, and I just don’t like them so I am always looking for pieces that are priced right and easy to mix and match. I wear lots of dresses and skirts and either add a blazer, duster cartigan or sweater to style up my look.

So to all you working ladies out there, here is some inspiration that won’t break the bank.

Style your look with a simple ribbed knit dress for only $14.90 from Forver 21 with this  Blazer by h&m that’s on sale right now for $15 and tie your perfectly priced outfit with a bib statement necklace and lace up pump.

Along with that blazer I mentioned above, you can style your next outfit with this Black bodycon skirt-only $7.90 and a  red blouse (In spirit of V-day) with a pair of pumps. Affordable yet classy look.

Another option is this Neck tie dress with the blazer and pumps. So easy and stylish for work.

Meal Prep Inspo

Need some inspo on meal ideas? Check out what I’m meal prepping for this coming week.

BREAKFAST: Veggie sandwiches.

What you need:

  • Buns! Or Bagels or toast. Whatever you want.
  • Veggie patties. I use Morning Star white bean chili. Sounds funky but they are so good!
  • Onion
  • Avocado
  • Feta cheese
  • Chili Flakes

First bake your veggie patties. Once baked add the patty, avocado, onion, feta cheese to your carb of choice and top with chili flakes. I wrap my sandwiches up in foil so in the morning as I’m running out the door I grab my sandwich. I will pop mine in the toaster oven when I get to work. These are so easy and delish!

LUNCH: I always make salads for lunch. I’ll bake a bunch of chicken and chop it up and throw it on top of whatever salad mixings I’m using. This week I’m using :

  • Mixed Greens
  • Onions
  • Cashews
  • Broccoli
  • Chicken
  • Feta cheeseAvocado

I add the above in each Tupperware. I make a total of 8 salads. 4 for me & 4 for my husband. This lasts M-Th. Each morning before heading out the door I add the avocado and dressing. There you go! Lunch on the go.

DINNER IDEAS: I don’t meal prep my dinners but I do buy all of my groceries on Sunday and then make dinner the night of.

Meal balls & Zucchini noodles. On the skillet- get your zucchini out and make some zoodles! Add your zucchini noodles and cooked meat balls, mix around until your zoodles are warm and eat up! I top my meal with feta and pesto. I love feta!! Can you tell from my previous meal posts!

On the skillet-Grilled chicken and sautĂ© with olive oil, broccoli, asparagus, jalapeños, black olives, onions, and bell peppers. Once it’s all cooked up I will add chili flakes and seasoning and some parmesan cheese.

On the skillet-Ground Turkey. Cook it up and add black beans, corn, black olives and jalapeños. Top with cheese of your choice and avocado.

Styling your Pleated Skirt

This skirt is so versatile and not to mention comfortable. Dress it up for work or a night out on the town or dress it down for the weekend for when you are out and about. For a fun vibe style your pleated skirt with a vintage rock tee and wedges. For work style it with a sweater and blazer and heels; the possibilities are endless! To pull your look together add a choker or fedora.
