Aging Gracefully

We all want clear smooth skin. Why inject your face with Botox? I think we get caught up with what’s popular and what’s the easiest way to get what we want. Why take a short cut? Adjust your routine and utilize these 5 simple tips to prevent wrinkles.

1. Clean your face before bed. There may be nights where you fall asleep with your make-up on. That’s a big no no! Make it a habit to wash your face. I use Peabody & Paisley Charcol Detox Soap on my face along with Murad Refreshing Cleanser and Murad Clarifying Cleanser. Sounds like a lot for a face clean but it makes my face feel so fresh. If I am having trouble getting my make up off I use Aveeno foam wash or Ponds Cold Cream cleaner.

2. Moisturize! After my face is squeaky clean I apply Murad Age Spot Serum and Murad Perfecting Night Cream (I use this for day & night). After that I spritz my face with either Murad Hydrating toner or Body Prescriptions Facial Mist (I randomly found this product at TJMaxx and I love it). After this routine my face feels dewy and clean.

3. Wear sunscreen. I mix Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30 with my foundation. I don’t like heavy make-up on my face so it doesn’t feel weighted down with product when I mix the two. So there you go. Now you have double coverage!

4. Drink lots of water. Water is so important. Drinking dehydrating soda, coffee and alcohol will age you!! I am a coffee lover and I do love my wine but I make sure I’m drinking my water. I drink up to 60 ounces of water a day. If I don’t I feel like I’m in the Sahara Desert. So drink your water!

5. Eat your veggies and fruits. It’s that simple. They are packed with so much nutrients that help with aging and not to mention your waist line čÖé

If you give yourself 5-10 minutes to take care of your face you will thank yourself when you are older! I am obsessed with Murad products!! All products I listed above are linked directly to the products  site. Enjoy! Xo

Styling with the Basics

The key is to buy long lasting pieces that will work with any outfit and then mix and match.

Items you just have to have:  denim jacket, leather jacket, a trench or a light duster coat, OTK boots, a pair of distressed jeans, cut offs, oversized sunnies and a go to fedora. These must haves will transform any look!

I shop all over. When I have budgeted to splurge I instantly go to Nordstrom. There’s just something about Nordstrom..I wish I could live there!  My budget friendly go to stores are TJMaxx, Marshals, Banana Republic Outlet, Target, and Amazon. On a random day adventuring around town I will check out a Goodwill store. You just never know what you’ll find. Perhaps a piece that’s coming back in style! I also shop at random boutiques I might run into and local small businesses.

It’s a NEW YEAR! Yay for new beginnings!  We all have jobs, we work hard and at the end of the day there is something inspiring us and motivating us to take charge of our lives. My parents are my inspirations. They are the ones who have molded me into who I am today, taught me values and self worth all while juggling life. My Husband inspires me to work hard and to follow through on my word. My friends and new people I meet who talk about their passions and dreams inspire me. Everywhere I look I see inspiration! What inspires you?

Who ever made this sign is my idol.

Places to about Jamaica! Yea mon

The most recent trip my husband and I took was last September. We visited Jamaica and let me tell you it was pretty awesome! We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid. The service was impeccable, the never ending drinks & food (omg their signature jerk chicken is heavenly good!) was amazing and the sunsets were breathtakingly beautiful. We left the resort once. We basically lounged on the beach all day, drank yummy cocktails, ordered room service, and checked out their nightly live performances.

The day we left the resort, we ventured to the Martha Brae River and took a little raft ride. It is a must if you ever get a chance to go! Make sure you bring cash! We failed to do that..along the river side you have the option to stop and grab a beer at a man-made bar and hang with the locals for bit.

Getting personal

I don’t know about you but the “winter blues” is in full effect! I’ve never lived anywhere else other than San Diego so I would say I am spoiled by the naturally beautiful weather we get year round.. but…this rain and cold weather has got me feeling all the feels! I told myself that January would be “focus on me” month. So with it being dark and cold I am actually embracing it (finally). Continue reading

Style me pretty

Do you ever feel like you have nothing to wear & end up wearing that go-to dress? I wear this stripped bitty quite often because 1. It’s my favorite & 2. I just love the collar & tie detail. Today I decided to switch it up and pull this red sweater from Banana Republic over my Forever 21 dress to transform my look into effortlessly chic. PS- I found these look alike Valentino strap pumps from Amazon for a fraction of the price!
